Dr. Jonathan Pourmorady graduated from the University of California Los Angeles where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with Summa Cum Laude honors. He then went on to pursue his Medical Degree from the University of California Irvine School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Following his residency training, he moved to New Haven, Connecticut where he completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the Yale University School of Medicine.
Throughout his training, he has presented at various national GI conferences in addition to authoring original and review articles in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology.
His areas of expertise include irritable bowel syndrome, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, inflammatory bowel disease, hemorrhoids, colorectal cancer, liver disease, microscopic colitis, and gastrointestinal bleeding. He is a talented endoscopist, proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. He also performs wireless capsule endoscopy and hemorrhoid band ligation.
Dr. Pourmorady practices in our Beverly Hills and Garden Grove clinics. He is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Southern California Hospital Culver City, and the California Rehabilitation Institute.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Pourmorady has various hobbies including hiking, basketball, playing the guitar, and surfing.
